Finger painting

Yesterday we bought Nick some finger paints with the intention of letting Nick paint his pumpkin. We got out all the paints and he was intrigued for about 30 seconds. Eddie and I sat and finger painted hoping to catch his eye to come over. After about 20 min we decided it would be more fun to paint Nick.

Here is out little work of art...

Pumpkins pumpkins, everywhere pumpkins

Last week we went to the pumpkin patch with my mom. A great time was had by all. Nicholas definitely enjoyed it this year more than last year. We went to a singalong, saw animals, road the tractor and got to look for all our pumpkins.

Nicholas and I chased eachother around the little hay maze...

The obligatory family pic...

but daddy the pumpkins down here look much better...

So I really wanted "perfect" pumpkins and kept trying to convince Nick of the pumpkin he should bring home. Unfortunately or fortunately he had other plans. I told him going in that he could pick out his pumpkin...little did I know that this is what he'd pick. I kept trying to give him other pumpkins, but this is the one he kept picking up...it is now on our front porch.

OK fine mom I guess I'll pose for one picture for you...

and a preview of my little dinosaur...

God I LOVE my kid!

Monkey boy

Nicholas has discovered the easiest way to get to the cat.

Nick's new table

Nicholas really loves to color and before he had just been sitting on the floor. Since I have become so obsessed with my new couch getting dirty (it is now covered with quilts by the way), I told Eddie I wanted to get Nick his own little table to sit and play at. We headed out to Ikea this week and this is what we came home with. Eddie looked at me last night and told me it looked like a kid lived here.

Love this pic

This is what happens when you mix Nick with the hose...

Out with the old...

and in with the new...

Eddie and I were very lucky when we got together. Each of us already had a ton of furniture so we really haven't had to buy much. Over the 4 years we have been slowly replacing things. One of the things that has been driving me nuts from the beginning are our couches. I have a bad back and a bad neck and they are really uncomfortable for me and plus the "blue" just doesn't do it for me. I finally found a couch I absolutely LOVE. No we didn't need a new couch, but I wanted a new couch. I've been browsing for 4 years and have never really been in love with anything, until the other day. I saw this couch in an ad...we went that night right before the closed and sat on it...I debated it all the next day. That night we went back and bought it and it was delivered tonight. I absolutely LOVE it. It's a microfiber material that has been protected (yeah I know we're nuts for beige with a toddler)...and the base is leather! It is absolutely gorgeous! The leather and beige pillows came with it but were soon replaced with my maroon ones.
Our old couch minus the loveseat...
My new beauty...

18 months old

Nicholas is officially half way to his second birthday today...

He now helps get himself dressed and can almost use a fork. His vocabulary is increasing every day and his new favorite work is "hi". He also loves his "spikes". If you ask them where they are he will touch his head. He even asks for spikes by rubbing his head and then going to look for his "spiker" gel. I looked at Eddie the other day and asked him when our little baby started growing up. I can't believe how fast the time has gone. It's hard to believe that only a year and a half ago he was just born!
